Talib Qadir Kibwe

Born to Western Indian parents and elevated on New York’s Long Isle, Kibwe began taking part in trumpet at age eight. Following a short encounter using the drums and some years from music, he used the flute at 17, after that saxophone. From 1971-1975, he went to New York University or college, earning a two times main in Music and Mindset. During those years, he analyzed (within the city’s Jazzmobile system) with saxophonists Frank Foster, Jimmy Heath, Billy Mitchell, and Ernie Wilkins. From 1977-1980, Kibwe toured with pianist Abdullah Ibrahim; in 1981, he relocated to Paris, where he stayed until 1989. During Europe, Kibwe created the T.K. Odyssey, with which he documented his first recording, Egyptian Oasis (1986). The group also produced three trips of Africa beneath the auspices from the U.S. STATE DEPT.. Kibwe returned towards the U.S. in 1990; he spent period as musical movie director and presented soloist in pianist Randy Weston’s music group. In 1996, Proof Records released Presenting Talib Kibwe. By 2001, Kibwe experienced authorized with Arkadia Information. Beneath the moniker T.K. Blue, the saxophonist produced the albums Another Blue and Eye from the Elders; individuals in the classes included a few of New York’s prominent youthful mainstream jazz music artists — Stefon Harris and Eric Reed included in this — in addition to veterans like Joanne Brackeen, Eddie Henderson, and Randy Brecker.
