Takadja

Located in Montreal but comprising musicians from Senegal and Guinea furthermore to Canada, Takadja uses tools like the balafon, kora, kirin logdrum and djembe drums. The group, founded and led by Francine Marzal because the past due ’70s, also contains the drum-master Sekou Camara Cobra, Oumar N’Diaye, Naby Camara, Nathalie Dussault and Robert Lepine. A self-titled debut record, made by Steve Roach, premiered by Celestial Harmonies in 1995.
