Taco scored his only pop strike in 1982 using a faithful rendition from the Irving Berlin chestnut “Puttin’ over the Ritz.” Blessed Taco Ockerse in Jakarta, Indonesia on July 21, 1955, he documented “Ritz” in Germany in 1981; a calendar year later, the melody (originally popularized by Fred Astaire) strike the upper gets to from the U.S. pop graphs, along with a video depicting the vocalist decked out within a bow-tie-and-tails ensemble emblematic from the Depression-era film musicals his picture strived to emulate. Taco’s debut LP, After Eight, included various other recreations of 1930s strikes, in addition to original material within the same vein; nevertheless, the marketplace for such stuff was obviously limited, and following a 1984 follow-up, Let’s Encounter the Music, he vanished from the graphs for good.
