This stylish and innovative trio formed within the mid-’80s when childhood friends Eric Valentine (drums) and Dan Arlie (bass) met guitarist Jeff Tyson and built a studio in Arlie’s garage. Tyson researched acoustic guitar (at exactly the same time as Testament’s Alex Skolnick) from fabled acoustic guitar expert Joe Satriani while Valentine honed his creating chops on Arlie’s vocals for the demonstration that earned T-Ride a Hollywood agreement. The label forced for big-name makers, including Eddie Kramer, who informed T-Ride to stick to their resident professional, Valentine. Their excellent, self-titled debut showcased sterling songcraft with traditionalist metallic tendencies and advanced technical renderings. But T-Ride, one of the biggest hair metal information ever, with amazing paths like “Extravagance Cruiser” (also within the Encino Man soundtrack) and “You as well as your Friend,” vanished upon launch. Valentine normally became an extremely active producer, dealing with Smash Mouth area, Keeping track of Crows, Third Attention Blind, the Dwarves, and many more.
