Biography

Once dubbed “the Jay-Z from the South” simply by Pharrell Williams, T.We. gradually arrived to his very own and set up himself as you of rap’s most effective MCs through the early 2000s. Like Jay-Z, T.We. — delivered Clifford Harris in Atlanta, Georgia — transported an equilibrium of smoothness and toughness, and even though 2001’s I’m Significant didn’t capture him from the gate ? la Realistic Doubt, he regularly grew and released a string of main strikes with 2003’s “24’s.” Through the entire six pursuing years, T.We. maintained a regular presence on metropolitan radio stations in the us: 2003’s Capture Muzik, 2004’s Urban Story, 2006’s Ruler (released in tandem with T.We.’s debut display appearance in ATL), 2007’s T.We. vs T.We.P., and 2008’s Paper Path — all released with the MC’s cope with Atlantic — had been TOP albums, using the second option three even hanging out towards the top from the chart. For good or for bad, T.We. also courted a great deal of controversy during his rise to superstar position. Far more printer ink was allocated to his legalities and issues with additional rappers, including fellow Southerner Lil’ Turn, than on his Katrina alleviation efforts along with other humanitarian involvements. One significant event occurred on, may 3, 2006, when T.We.’s team was swept up in a taking pictures after a display in Cincinnati. The crossfire remaining three people hurt, while longtime friend and personal associate Philant Johnson was fatally wounded. Despite such occurrences, T.We. continuing to flourish because the 10 years drew to some close, liberating three chart-topping rap singles and four Best Five pop strikes between 2008 and 2009. His profession required a breather in ’09 2009, however, once the rapper joined an Arkansas jail to serve a yearlong phrase related to federal government gun costs. He premiered from prison by the end of 2009, providing the others of his phrase in a halfway home in Atlanta. Before the Dec 2010 launch of his seventh recording, No Mercy, he came back to jail, sentenced to 11 weeks for violating his probation. The recording went gold, as well as the rapper was nominated for just two Grammy Honours. After his launch, he continued documenting and co-starred within the VH1 series T.We. and Tiny: The Family members Hustle. He released Trouble Man: Large Is the Mind, in Dec 2012. Affected by Pharrell Williams, the rapper shifted to the Columbia category of brands in 2013. Williams also professional created his 2014 work Paperwork, an record introduced with the one “About the amount of money” featuring Little Thug. It had been T.We.’s eighth consecutive TOP recording. In 2015, after looks in a small number of movies, including Entourage and Ant-Man, he came back as Suggestion using the five-track EP Da’ Nic and his tenth appropriate recording, The Dime Capture. Parting methods with Columbia immediately after, Suggestion signed a cope with Jay-Z’s Roc Country in early 2016. Furthermore to beginning a rap collective dubbed Bankroll Mafia with Small Thug, amongst others, Suggestion released the EP Us if not. Supporting the Dark Lives Matter motion, the six-song collection offered an unflinching take a look at competition and power in the us.

#Quote
1 He's one of the most charismatic guys next to me you will find in the south. The best rapper next to me. - On his protégé, rapper Young Dro
2 On how he came up with the lyrics for his album Trap Muzik, "This is a paperless album. I don't write nothing down. Just listen to the beat for a minute like this right here.. and get in the booth and lay it down."
3 About how he got his nickname Rubberband Man, "I'm the Rubber Band Man. It's basically about being back in the Trap, like when we start our day, we might have two, three, rubber bands on our wrist. According to how much dope we had to sell. By the end of the day, if we sold all our dope we don't have any more rubber bands around our wrists cause they wrapped around money. So the Rubber Band Man is just my little way of holding on to that lifestyle just a little bit. I ain't selling no more dope, but I'm still wrapping rubber bands around money."
4 About his album King, "This album is a solidification of why I call myself The King of the South."
