Syreeta Thompson

Manhattan-based performer Syreeta Thompson (aka “The Trumpet Lady”) is certainly a trumpeter, vocalist, and educator known on her behalf jazz and R&B-infused method of gospel. Along with executing, Thompson can be an in-demand clinician and educator who retains many positions including instructor of instrumental music for the Cicely Tyson College of Great and Performing Arts in NJ and instrumental music planner for Dorinda Clark-Cole’s Performers and Musicians Meeting. Elevated in Chicago, Thompson started playing trumpet at age group 12, executing with her cathedral band and their studies at Chicago’s Sherwood Conservatory of Music. After senior high school, she gained her Bachelor of Music from Rutgers College or university and Get better at of Music in film credit scoring/jazz structure and organizing from NY University. Since releasing her professional profession, Thompson provides performed with performers from both jazz and gospel worlds, including such luminaries as Von Freeman, Alvin Batiste, Orbert Davis, Hezekiah Walker, DeWayne Woods, yet others. In 2007 she released her debut record, Gabriel’s Compliment, which garnered a Stellar Prize for Greatest Instrumental Record. Her sophomore record, In His Existence, implemented in 2011. In 2016 she shipped Winner, offering the one “Change Is along the way.”
