Sylvia Embry

b. 14 June 1941, Wabbaseka, Arkansas, USA, d. Feb 1992. Embry started playing piano as a kid and sang in chapel choirs, shifting to Memphis at age 19. In the 60s she resolved in Chicago, where she fulfilled and wedded blues guitarist Johnny Embry, who trained her to try out bass acoustic guitar. In the 70s she worked well for quite some time with Lefty Dizz and she is seen playing bass and performing one song along with his music group in the film Mississippi Delta Blues. She distributed the credit with her spouse on an recording for Razor Information, was a part of Alligator Information’ Living Chicago Blues task, and experienced an recording released beneath the name Blues Queen Sylvia around the German L&R label. A solid singer and good bass participant, Living Blues publication reported in 1985 that she experienced turned her back again on blues and was playing gospel music.
