Sylvia Abramowicz

This talented and musically sensitive performer, a noted exponent of older instruments, began her study from the flute ? bec in the Schola Cantorum in Paris. In 1976, she gained a diploma of superiority in the analysis of ancient devices. She then converted her interest toward the viola da gambe and enrolled on the Conservatoire Royal de La Haye to review flute ? bec and viole. She continuing her study from the viola de gambe with Jordi Savall on the Schola Cantorum de Bâle (1984 – 1986). In 1985, Abramowicz and Jonathan Dunford developed the duo A Deux Violes Esgales. She after that researched in the U.S. at Indiana University’s section of outdated music going by Thomas Binkley. In 1988, she attained a diploma for research of ancient musical instruments. Her first modern music venture is at 1994 within a function by Claire Renard entitled Bréves d’Eté (Summertime Pants). In 1995, she documented the soundtrack for Bernard Giraudeau’s film Les Caprices d’un Fleuve (The Caprices of the River) and in 1997, she got component in the creation Tombeau (Tomb), that was choreographed by Santiago Sampere and premiered on the Celebration de Danse de Montpellier. In 1998, she continuing her study from the viole on the Conservatoire de Saint-Cloud with the Conservatoire de Chevilly-Larue. Since that time, she’s performed numerous groups who focus on the revival of old music with such amazing brands as the Arts Florissants, Les Talens Lyriques, Outfit Sagittarius, Le Poème Harmonique, as well as the Renaissance music ensemble Doulce Mémoire (Lovely Memory). For quite some time, she’s participated in productions from the Péspecific niche market Opéra, including Les comédies madrigalesques, La veuve et le grillon (The Widow as well as the Cricket), and a French-Taiwanese co-production entitled Le jardin des délices (YOUR GARDEN of Delights).
