Sylvan Esso

A collaboration between singer/songwriter Amelia Meath from the Appalachian indie folk trio Hill Man and digital producer Nick Sanborn, who performs beneath the moniker Manufactured from Oak and plays bass with rootsy psych-rockers Megafaun, Durham, North Carolina’s Sylvan Esso craft evocative, yet elusive electro folk-pop confections that encompass the very best elements of both artists. Created in 2013, a 12 months after Sanborn offered Meath with an especially affecting remix from the Meath-penned Hill Man track “Play It Best,” the duo released their Partisan Records-issued debut long-player in early 2014. The LP damaged the very best 40 around the Billboard 200 on the effectiveness of the singles “Hey Miami” and “Espresso,” the second option which was performed around the Tonight Display with Jimmy Fallon, marking their nationwide tv debut. Early 2017 noticed the discharge of two fresh singles, “Radio” and “Kick Leap Twist,” in expectation of the introduction of their sophomore full-length What Right now, which dropped later on that year.
