Syd Arthur

Since their formation in 2006, British psych-rock quartet Syd Arthur have immersed themselves in the rich musical history of their native Canterbury, drawing influences from later-’60s and early-’70s progressive pioneers just like the Soft Machine and Caravan, and filtering them through a far more contemporary lens. Brothers Liam and Joel MaGill (electric guitar and bass, respectively) fulfilled drummer Fred Rother and violinist Raven Bush (nephew of Kate Bush) while in college as well as the group was produced, spending the next fundamental years gigging, developing their ornate jazz-rock audio, and finally building their very own documenting studio room, Wicker Studios, in ’09 2009. The group go about documenting their debut EP, Shifting World, that was released this year 2010 independently New Dawn Documenting Firm imprint and garnered compliment from prominent U.K. magazines. The one “Ode to Summertime” premiered the following season and in 2012, Syd Arthur released their initial LP, On and On. The record was well received and captured the interest of Britain’s renowned revived Harvest Information, who agreed upon the music group and reissued On and On in past due 2013. They quickly implemented up in-may 2014 using their second record, Sound Reflection. In 2015, Liam and Joel’s youthful sibling, Josh Magill, started completing for drummer Fred Rother, who was simply suffering from serious tinnitus. It had been later verified that Josh acquired permanently changed Rother and produced his first documented appearance a season down the road Syd Arthur’s third full-length for Harvest, Apricity.
