Sybil Vane

Biography

The aggressively grungy quartet Sybil Vane was formed in 1993 by vocalist April Devereaux and guitarist Dave Hillis being a project because of their singing and songwriting ambitions. Following a great response with their cassettes on the South by Southwest music convention in Austin, TX, the music group (complemented by bassist Darren Jones and drummer Joey Veneziani) steadily coalesced in 1994, was agreed upon to Isle and released a self-titled debut record early in 1995.

1 I lived with my mother all my life until she died, and I don't really think I knew her, because I was always using her as my mother, if you know what I mean.
2 I'm not very good at going to sleep, and that's probably my worst problem. I don't need much more than seven and a half hours, but I probably get six. I take all my problems to bed with me and fret. I can't switch off.
3 I'm childish and silly. Most people tease me because I'm a bit daft.
