Svenska Hotkvintetten

This little-known Swedish group (its name translated to English may be the Swedish Hot Quintet) was closely modeled following the Quintet from the Hot Club of France. With violinist Emil Iwring and guitarists Sven Stiberg (single-string) and Folke Eriskberg (chordal) acquiring solos, this group was among the hottest around during 1939-1941. Nevertheless, its recordings seldom circulated beyond Sweden and, before problem of a 1993 Dragon Compact disc, it was among the great unknown rings in jazz background.
