Susanne Abbuehl

Blessed in 1970 in Berne, Switzerland, Swiss/Dutch jazz vocalist Susanne Abbuehl demonstrated a pastime in music at an extremely early age, composing music and composing lyrics as a little child, in addition to learning harpsichord. She transferred to LA in 1987 to review tone of voice and spent period touring america and Canada using a jazz group. She afterwards returned to European countries, learning jazz and traditional tone of voice, including North Indian traditional voice, on the Royal Conservatory from the Hague. In 2001, Abbuehl released Apr on ECM, gaining enthusiastic testimonials and evaluations to various other modern-day feminine jazz vocalists like Cassandra Wilson and Norah Jones. Compass, also on ECM, implemented in 2007. Abbuehl toured European countries extensively on the next couple of years, with her music group going through a metamorphosis. While pianist Wolfert Brederode continued to be, she enlisted flügelhorn participant Matthieu Michel in ’09 2009 and youthful Finnish drummer/percussionist Olavi Louhivuori (Tomasz Stanko, Marilyn Crispell) a little later on. Her next providing, The Gift, made an appearance on ECM in June of 2013.
