Portland’s Supernaut had been formed in late 2004 by vocalist/guitarist Scott Chapin, a couple of years following the dissolution of his previous music group, the Daylights, who have been together seven years and found small MTV achievement. He installed 1st with drummer Mike “Basil” Ternyik (ex-Sweaty Nipples) and, following a few rehearsals collectively, started the hunt to circular out the others of Supernaut’s lineup. (Chapin is usually a huge Dark Sabbath fan, therefore naming the group after among Sabbath’s classic tunes.) Bassist Mike Lee, previously of San Francisco’s Types & Zeroes, was induced board; they later on added second guitarist Ryan Schmidt, a veteran of local favorites Molly Cliff as well as the Film. Both Ternyik and Schmidt experienced also spent period with Chapin within the Daylights. The live unveiling from the band’s personal “full-contact rock and roll” is at Oct 2004, and Supernaut authorized to Portland-based In Music We Trust quickly later on. Their hard-hitting debut EP, Livid, Vol. 1, premiered in early 2005, which Chapin dealt with all the acoustic guitar parts, since it was documented before the addition of Schmidt. The EP concentrated the raw strength of the live display into six Pabst-soaked songs of hard rock and roll power, pop hooks, and punk grit. Tour times round the Pacific Northwest adopted, and various tunes found local radio airplay over summer and winter. Lee parted methods with Supernaut that Oct, and was changed on bass by Jason Locher (Fuckpriest Fantastic, Dirtclodfight). The full-length recording Burning With the Motions appeared following in January 2007.
