Super Eagles

The Super Eagles found prominence in the 1960s as Gambia’s best & most popular performers of Western style pop. Making use of their homemade Sergeant Pepper matches proclaiming their indebtedness towards the Beatles, there is little which was especially African within the band’s music. Through the early 1970s, the group underwent a big change of musical school of thought, began to function increasingly with regional equipment and in regional languages, and transformed their name to Ifang Bondi, that is Mandinka for “End up being Yourself.” Their last & most well-known album ahead of this transformation of name was Saraba, defined within the liner records as “genuine music in the Gambia.”
