A gritty garage area pop duo in the vein of Phantogram and Cults, Sunlight & the Rainfall is the function of NJ husband-and-wife group Justin and Ashley Morey. Both previously from the psych-rock clothing the Dark Hollies, they produced their debut as Sunlight & the Rainfall soon after their earlier band’s dissolution in 2014. Their self-released 7″ solitary “Can’t Stop CONSIDERING You” b/w “Pale Blue Skies” netted them a cope with New York’s Ernest Jenning Record Co. plus they decamped to Sonic Youth’s Echo Canyon Western studio to focus on a full-length LP. Made by Jon Spencer, In the Darkness of My Night time was released in-may 2017.
