Sun & the Moon

Almost rigtht after the tearful, embittered dissolution from the Chameleons, bassist/vocalist Mark Burgess and drummer John Lever came back as sunlight as well as the Moon, with Andy Whitaker and Andy Clegg essentially replacing the roles that Reg Smithies and Dave Fielding held in the former band. It is possible to forgive Whitaker and previous Chameleons’ touring hands Clegg for not really possessing the skill and chemistry which the extraordinary Smithies and Fielding distributed, but there is no denying that sunlight as well as the Moon’s self-titled 1988 debut on Geffen sounded like cut-rate Chameleons.
