Psychological depth, virtuosic instrumental skills, along with a passion for melody have already been combined with the music of sarangi player Sultan Khan. Taught the rudiments from the sarangi by his dad, Ustad Gulab Khan, Khan provides continue to progress as an instrumentalist. Performing his debut concert at age 11 on the All-Indian Meetings, Khan is really a two-time champion from the esteemed Sangeet Natya Academy Award. He also received the silver medal award of Moharashtra and an American Academy of Performers award in 1998. Getting international interest when he followed Ravi Shankar on George Harrison’s Dark Equine tour in 1974, Khan provides featured in the soundtracks of Gandhi and In Guardianship. In 1997, Khan performed at Prince Charles’ 50th special birthday.
