Home / Biography / Suffrajett

NY City’s Suffrajett is lo-fi, intense, and grooving, however they aren’t quite garage area rock. The music group plays swaggering music that are both grimy and soulful, led from the lovely and uncooked vocals of Simi. Simi, a classically qualified vocalist from Woodstock, NY, and Chicagoan guitarist Jason Chasko, who used Liz Phair on Whitechocolatespaceegg, shaped Suffrajett in 2002. With Kevin Roberts (Elysian Areas) on bass and Frank Ferrer (the Psychedelic Furs) on drums, the music group brings some glam with their unpleasant rock and roll strut. Suffrajett’s self-titled debut, a raucous collection of Decrease East Part grit with some catchy hooks, premiered on In Music We Rely upon Might of 2003.
