Stubby Pastor

Recommending a somewhat insulting description of the puny man from the cloth, Stubby Pastor was a classic fully concocted name. Pastor was the anglicized edition from the surname Pestritto, a big change also used by this artist’s better known sibling, the bandleader and saxophonist Tony Pastor. Elevation had not been something the brothers experienced in keeping, with “stubby”–unlike “small”, frequently related to giants–a nickname reserved just limited to the sleight of elevation. The brothers distributed a skill for singing, nevertheless, to the stage where as vocalists these were frequently considered similar twins. Stubby Pastor also performed a horn but didn’t follow his sibling in to the reed section. Rather he performed trumpet, staying quite busy through the ’40s and ’50s. He turns up on at least 70 different documenting periods from that period, frequently in the type of great firm his brother’s clothing was observed for. The trumpeter’s collaborators on lately discovered performances in the mid ’40s are the young Joe Move. The Pastor music group also presented trombonist Friend Morrow and trumpeter Maximum Kaminksy.
