Stuart McLean may be the host from the Vinyl fabric Cafe on CBC Radio, where he performs humorous story-monologues about the Toronto category of Dave, who works the Vinyl fabric Cafe record shop; his wife, Morley; their teenage girl, Stephanie; and their young son, Sam. Frequently involving mishaps centered around well-intentioned deeds and concepts that don’t workout quite as meant, McLean delivers the tales inside a droll, welcoming way that’s both satirical and affectionate. He’s created three short-story choices predicated on the Vinyl fabric Cafe stories (Stories through the Vinyl fabric Cafe, House from the Vinyl fabric Cafe, and Vinyl fabric Cafe Unplugged), and in addition has issued many spoken term CDs of live shows of stories applied to the program. Furthermore to his Vinyl fabric Cafe tasks, McLean spent some time working like a radio documentarian, journalist, and CBC broadcaster. Writer of the books Welcome House: Moves in Small City Canada as well as the Morningside Globe of Stuart McLean, he’s also a teacher at Toronto’s Ryerson College or university. McLean continues to be performing excerpts through the Vinyl fabric Cafe in live concert since 1998.
