Home / Biography / Strutt

Formed in NJ, Strutt was a disco-funk strap signed briefly towards the Brunswick label. Their lineup included guitarist Carmen Cosentino, keyboardist Frank Portolano, woodwind participant Jim Mecke, trombonist Joe Escobar, bassist Edward Walker, and drummer Roger Zumbo. With pianist/maker Benny Clark in the helm, Strutt documented a full-length LP, Period PROGRESSES, in 1975. “Cool Indication” garnered some airplay in dance night clubs, as do the title monitor and its own B-side “Front side Row Romeo.” Nevertheless, nothing additional was noticed from the group. [Notice: Two 1984 singles released beneath the name Strutt had been actually documented by Sly, Slick & Wicked.]
