An accomplished nation, folk, and Americana trio away of Lancaster, Pa, Stray Wild birds was formed by multi-instrumentalists and vocalists Maya de Vitry, Oliver Craven, and Charlie Muench, all three of whom had classical schooling (de Vitry and Muench actually initial met in senior high school orchestra), but were also exposed and influenced with the music from the Carter Family members and Costs Monroe, aswell as the common melodic pop from the Beatles as well as the re-imagined traditional Americana from the Music group. Following university, Craven was playing within a bluegrass music group with Muench known as River Steering wheel when he fulfilled de Vitry, and he and de Vitry started writing each other’s music, shortly graduating to open up mikes and busking jointly around Lancaster. The duo documented an EP, Borderland, within a cellar studio this year 2010, and Muench made an appearance being a bassist on some of the monitors. Stray Birds had been today essentially intact, as well as the trio strike the studio once again, independently liberating a full-length recording, the self-titled The Stray Parrots, in 2012. The recording was very much praised from the critics because of its razor-sharp songwriting, beautiful harmonies, and well-played preparations. An EP, Echo Classes. which contains covers of tracks by Townes Vehicle Zandt, the Louvin Brothers, Jimmie Rodgers, Nanci Griffith, and Susanna Clark, appeared in 2013. Another full-length, Best Medication, came from Yep Roc in 2014, and presented songs compiled by di Vitry and Craven, who, while they usually do not co-write, have composing styles that are complementary. For 2016’s Magic Open fire, the music group branched out in even more methods than one, doing work for the very first time with another producer (Grammy-award champion Larry Campbell), attracting guest music artists, and collaborating for the songwriting.
