Strata Florida

Welsh wish pop act Strata Florida shaped in 2012 around the house recordings of singer Louise Trehy. Trehy initial produced her name back the first ’90s as you half from the shoegaze/wish pop music group Swallow, which disbanded in 1994 after completing only 1 record for prominent U.K. label 4AD. Pursuing Swallow’s break up, Trehy retreated to rural Wales, departing the music business entirely until the past due 2000s whenever a stint performing in an area choice choir reignited her curiosity about documenting. After teaching herself to try out your guitar, she started writing music and documenting them on the lent four-track recorder. She recruited bassist and collaborator Peter Pavli in 2012 as well as the duo started focusing on the tracks that would ultimately comprise their 1st recording. Naming themselves after a 12th hundred years Welsh Cistercian abbey, Strata Florida authorized with U.S. label Saint Marie Information and released their debut LP, Manufactured from Celebrities, in early 2014.
