Strangefolk

Shaped together by two university students from the College or university of Vermont, Reid Genauer (vocals/ guitar) and Jon Trafton (guitar) spent the very first year together beneath the name Stranefolk while carrying out in pubs and coffee homes all throughout campus. Equipped with just their acoustic guitars and distortion pedals, Genauer and Trafton ultimately recruited Erik Glockler on bass and Luke Smith on drums, satisfying the line-up like a four piece. Making use of their own design of merging bluegrass, folk, rock and roll and blues, Strangefolk got the opportunity to record this within the studio and finally self-releasing their self-titled first recording in 1994, accompanied by “Lore” another year. Following a significant touring schedule over the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA to get both of these albums, Flat Globe Records took see and released “Weightless in Drinking water” in 1998.
