Strange Creek Singers

This group was formed through the late 60s by Mike Seeger (b. 15 August 1933, NEW YORK, NY, USA). All of those other group had been Lamar Grier (banjo), Tracy Schwarz (b. Daniel Tracy Schwarz, 13 November 1938, NEW YORK, NY, USA; fiddle/electric guitar/banjo) who had formerly been with Seeger’s Brand-new Lost Town Ramblers, Hazel Dickens (b. Hazel Jane Dickens, 1 June 1935, Mercer State, Western world Virginia, USA; electric guitar), and Alice Gerrard (b. 8 July 1934, Seattle, Washington, USA; electric guitar). The name of the group was extracted from Unusual Creek, Western world Virginia, plus they played an assortment of bluegrass and old-time musical designs, both traditional and modern. It was quite definitely a hobbyist’s affair, provided the commitments beyond the band of all worried. Even so, they toured both European countries and the united states, playing several major festivals along the way. Seeger continues to be documenting, while Schwarz performs and travels using the Tracy Schwarz Cajun Trio. Dickens in addition has documented solo.
