The project of Goshen, Indiana-based singer/songwriter Tim Showalter, Strand of Oaks specializes in bold and anthemic indie Americana that attracts from classic rock and folk, skillfully blending traditional singer/songwriter catharsis with stadium-ready melodies in the vein of artists like War on Medications and My Morning hours Coat. Showalter, who started writing and executing in 2003, released his first assortment of songs beneath the moniker, Keep Ruin, in ’09 2009 via the Pennsylvania-based indie label La Société Expéditionnaire. Strand of Oaks’ sophomore outing, the properly titled Heal, found its way to 2014 via Deceased Oceans Records over time of turmoil and self-reflection. Coming back from a frantic and frequently hedonistic tour, Showalter reentered the studio room to record his follow-up to Heal. Once again using his very own life encounters as motivation, the record would meld the audio of Alan McGee’s Creation Information’ result with dub and traditional rock affects.
