Stones

New Zealand music group Stones are most widely known for showing up for the influential 1982 Traveling Nun release Dunedin Increase, which also included songs with the Chills, Sneaky Emotions, as well as the Verlaines. Shaped by vocalist/guitarist Wayne Elsey, who got just still left his band Bored stiff Games searching for a music group that sounded just like the Clean, bassist/vocalist Jeff Batts, and drummer Graeme Anderson, the trio performed their first present in 1981. Though somewhat scruffier and rougher across the sides than most New Zealand rings at that time, they discovered themselves using the Chills, Verlaines, as well as the Clean, but displays were few in number. In July of 1982, the Dunedin Increase EP premiered as well as the band’s profile grew up considerably. The completed out the entire year with a reliable stream of displays around New Zealand and documented their initial EP right before Xmas. The five-song Another Disk Another Dollar premiered by Traveling Nun in July of 1983 and managed to get completely to amount 33 on New Zealand’s pop graphs. The fun didn’t last for the music group and they proceeded to go their separate methods by the finish of that winter season, playing their last display in August. Batts continued to play using the Pterodactyls, and Anderson using the Adult Mayflies before shedding out of music. Elsey reteamed with previous Bored Video games bandmate (and potential person in Straitjacket Suits) Shayne Carter to create Doublehappys. He tragically dropped his life inside a teach incident in 1985 while on tour. In 2015, Soaring Nun released a Rocks retrospective, Three Blind Mice, that put together all their studio room songs and added a batch of live songs as well.
