In the later ’60s, guitarist Roy Roper and drummer Brian Lousley formed the band Perth Amboy with bassist Danny Atchison. After changing their name to Stonebolt, the trio recruited key pad participant Jon Webster and vocalist David Wills. Stonebolt performed around their house of Vancouver for nearly a decade before Parachute Information authorized them in 1977. The group’s self-titled debut recording was released the next yr; when Parachute folded, RCA authorized them and released Maintain It Alive in 1980.
