Stitchie (given birth to Cleve Laing) began his music profession in Kingston, Jamaica, after he made a decision to quit teaching senior high school in 1987. It had been shortly before he obtained the nickname “Citrus” due to his like for citric fruits. The name developed into “Citchie,” but was misprinted by the product manufacturer of his 1st recording. The mistake wasn’t observed until following the album’s launch and by that point, fans had approved the blossoming isle designer by his misprinted nickname. Stitchie originally performed like a secular dancehall reggae vocalist. He documented three albums for Atlantic Information and one for Shanachie beneath the name Lieutenant Stitchie. In 1997, a significant car accident nearly took his existence. The tragic event experienced the vocalist contemplating his mortality and thinking where he’d spend eternity. It had been the start of a huge existence transformation. Through the next 2 yrs, the chart-topping designer attended Bible university and diligently go through his Bible. He began writing just Christian tunes and in 2000 released his 1st Christian album, Actual Power, with Lion of Zion Entertainment. On June 9, 2002, Stitchie received the Outstanding Man Reggae Vocal Overall performance of the entire year award in the 6th Annual Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Honours ceremony.
