Vocalist Stefano “Vlad” Ghersi and guitarist Morgan Ferrua founded Italian music group Stigma in the entire year 2000, and relinquished their initial pure hardcore root base two years later on to be able to embrace the heavier noises of metallic deathcore, as well as the allure of gothic lyrics about vampires and various other famous monsters. Two EPs — 2003’s Metamorphosis and ‘04’s Epitaph of Discomfort — noticed limited distribution, nearly exclusively within their homeland, but after solidifying a well balanced lineup finished by second guitarist Andrea Bailo, bassist Flavio Magnaldi and drummer Stefano Ghigliano, Stigma documented their worldwide debut, When Midnight Hits, for discharge in March 2008.
