A gifted jazz vocalist with strong cabaret influences, Stevie Holland is respectful of musical history without having to be a hidebound traditionalist. Rather than running right through the umpteenth rendition of “My Crazy Valentine,” the brand new York-based singer is usually much more likely to explore the overlooked corners of the fantastic American Songbook or perform her personal material, created in cooperation with her arranger and spouse, Gary William Friedman.
