Steve Young

A singer, tunesmith, and purveyor of what he dubbed “Southern music” — a brew of nation, folk, rock and roll, blues, gospel, and Celtic designs — Steve Adolescent was a songwriter’s songwriter, an acclaimed performer whose function found its most significant commercial success within the hands of various other performers and earned him compliment from famous brands Waylon Jennings, Townes Truck Zandt, and Lucinda Williams. Blessed in Georgia and elevated through the entire South, by his teenagers Young had been playing electric guitar and composing his own music. In the first ’60s, he transferred to NEW YORK and became associated with the burgeoning Greenwich Community folk music picture.
