Steve Hammond

Steven Hammond was a Uk guitarist who first emerged being a solo act in Pye Information (browse the anthology Quick Before They Capture Us: The Pop Period Vol. 1). He performed on Johnny Almond’s 1969 record Music Machine Patent Pending on Deram Information (functioning alongside Zoot Cash et al), and handed through the line-up of Noel Redding’s music group Fats Mattress (hence technically learning to be a “successor” of kinds to Jimi Hendrix, a minimum of with regards to Redding’s profession) before signing up for the Hill, use whom got him onto Chris Farlowe’s From Right here To Mama Rosa in 1970. He also performed for the Introvert record by guitarist/vocalist Jonathan Swift, but his most significant gig from the 1970’s was as an associate of Mick Farren & The Deviants, and he afterwards performed on Farren’s initial solo record aswell. He passed on in 1992.
