A command of funky, groove-induced, rhythms, Steve Dixon is among the leading drummers in Atlanta. His syncopated playing provides provided a base for such Atlanta-based funk rings as Encore (previously Great Joe) and Mz. Fishe And THE BRAND NEW groove. Playing drums because the age group of four, Dixon was motivated by his old brothers, Chip and Darryl, whose music group rehearsed at his house. Starting by imitating just how Chip performed the drums, he shortly learned the funky rhythms of Adam Dark brown and Kool AS WELL AS THE Gang. By age thirteen, he had been using the Rahway HIGH SCHOOL Marching Music group. He continued to execute with the senior high school marching music group, concert and jazz ensemble after graduating from junior high.
