Stefano Rossetto

This Italian composer wrote several madrigals and motets. His 1st publication of four-part madrigals was focused on a member from the Giustiniani family members and other functions and books with this collection focus on other members. Most definitely these were his customers. He also offered members from the Medici family members through the 1560s and made up his most daring function, the routine, “Lamento d’Olimpia” that was arranged for seventeen different parts. Rossetto also made up music for the Carnival in Florence and a level of motets in 1573 focused on Ferdinand of Austria. This might help explain why Rossetto can be credited with becoming the organist in the Munich courtroom in 1579 through 1580, a reference to the Hapsburgs. The majority of Rossetto’s motets look like organized with an instrumental accompaniment and his madrigals screen significant amounts of variety.
