This Lawrence, KS, band produced among the finer overlooked new wave/power pop/indie albums of the first ’80s, SHOP AROUND. Once referred to as a cross types from the Doors as well as the Jam, their haunting keyboard-based minimal melodies mesh using the simple hurry of mod/power pop to create a surprisingly effective cross types. Start was recognized from the countless similar bands from the period by a feeling of brooding poignancy, sounding in a few respects such as a even more understated and susceptible Elvis Costello.
