Starkey Banton

Biography

English reggae singer/songwriter Starkey Banton (given birth to David Murray) has helped spark a go back to the “truth and legal rights” themes of early reggae. Producing his tag with some amazing singles, including “I REALLY LIKE Ruler Selassie,” “Weeping & Wailing/Rastaman Chant,” “I Noticed Dem Arriving,” as well as the U.K. reggae strike “Jungle Bungle.” Banton released his initial album, Powers Youngsters, in 1997. His second record, Rasta Mystic, released in 2000, was a cooperation with influential United kingdom dub manufacturer the Mad Teacher.
