After Louisville, KY’s Big Steering wheel split up in 1993, frontman Peter Searcy and drummer Tom Tompkins formed a fresh project called Starbilly. Searcy experienced begun his profession as lead vocalist from the seminal American underground music group Squirrel Bait, and experienced cooled off a lot of his punk angst within the better-produced, even more collegiate Big Steering wheel, whose music meshed well using the adult option rock and roll format (? la Searcy’s primary vocal impact, Paul Westerberg). Starbilly continuing in quite similar vein as Big Steering wheel, albeit with an increase of of the post-grunge flavor along with a fuller audio because of the addition of two guitarists. Starbilly released an EP, With Caring Care, that presented two unreleased Big Steering wheel recordings; it had been accompanied by the group’s just full-length album, Expert Vibrator, released in 1995 by Hype Records. Having eliminated practically unnoticed by bigger brands, Starbilly disbanded in 1996. Searcy relocated to Atlanta and finally began a single profession, which kicked off with 2000’s WOULD YOU Please and MANY THANKS.
