Relating to Josh Cosby, frontman of Star & Micey, Star was (or simply is still) a homeless guy in Memphis who sang a music to Cosby on the subject of his (Star’s) fiancée, Micey. The Memphis-based group — composed of Cosby, Nick Redmond, Geoff Smith, Jessie Munson, Jeremy Stanfill, and Adam Woodard — makes winsome, feel-good, old-timey-tinged pop music that owe as very much to ocean shanty-spouting indie functions just like the Decemberists because they perform to straight-up bluegrass rings like Freakwater and Nickel Creek. Superstar & Micey possess their root base in the camaraderie between bassist Smith and frontman Cosby. Both Nashville, Tennessee-based music artists became friends when they had been barely teens, and began focusing on music together if they had been in senior high school. Superstar & Micey had been blessed when Cosby handed down a demonstration CD-R along to Redmond, a audio engineer at Nashville’s Ardent Information. The demo resulted in Redmond signing up for the fledgling music group, and, to best it off, it resulted in a record offer at Ardent. Their self-titled debut full-length premiered in nov 2009, as well as the trio implemented it up using a wide-ranging tour of america. Upon their go back to Memphis, Superstar & Micey brought three brand-new members in to the flip: drummer Stanfill, accordionist Woodard, and violinist Munson. The music group released two singles, “12 Times of Memphis” and “Crazy Jean,” this year 2010; the next year saw the discharge of their third one, “Back again to the night time.” 2 yrs later, Superstar & Micey released the EP I CANNOT Wait around on Ardent. Early in 2016, the group came back using the full-length Obtain ‘Em THE NEXT TIME, which made an appearance on One Lock Records.
