Biography

Stan Rogers originated from Hamilton, Ontario, a six-foot-four poet who began as a rock and roll bassist before embracing folk music. Along with his wealthy voice, he utilized his music to contact to life every one of the question and mysticism of his indigenous Canada. His performing was occasionally recognised incorrectly as that of Gordon Lightfoot, nonetheless it was huskier and earthier than Lightfoot’s, and his repertoire — comprised of tune cycles attracted from throughout Canada — was also even more tradition-oriented and much more mystical. Rogers passed away in a fireplace aboard an Atmosphere Canada trip in Cincinnati, Ohio in June 1983, abandoning a half-dozen albums.
