This melodic UK hard rock-band was formed in 1981 by ex-Wild Horses trio Reuben Archer (vocals), Laurence Archer (guitar) and Frank Noon (drums). Recruiting bass participant Colin Relationship, they authorized to Polydor Information the following 12 months. Noon remaining for Tormé and was changed by Eddie Parsons before they debuted with THE STATE Bootleg, documented live in the Reading Event. Their music at this time incorporated components of Deep Crimson and UFO, specially the guitar design of Laurence Archer which were a composite from the methods of Michael Schenker and Ritchie Blackmore. Hurricane City adopted, but was a disappointment. It presented throw-away, mid-paced rockers similar to Thin Lizzy. Struggling to appeal to media interest, Stampede split in 1983. Laurence Archer became a member of Grand Slam and later on recorded a single recording, L.A.
