Stackabones

Biography

Named following Woody Guthrie’s burnt daughter, Stackabones was shaped in Austin, TX, by two East Coastline buddies, Jim Brighton and Butch Zito. A fixture around the Austin picture in the middle-’80s, Stackabones discovered its method into Deadhead circles when its 1st single was performed in between units at a Thankful Dead show. Soon thereafter, the music group went in to the studio room with pedal metal hero Bobby Dark to record their 1st album, that was quickly found by Relix Information, the record label arm from the magazine specialized in the Thankful Dead as well as the jam music group picture. The band’s power was its songwriting, penned by both Brighton and Zito. Whereas additional jam rings and musical moons within the Thankful Dead’s atmosphere centered on psychedelic jamming, Stackabones centered on the tunes. “Tall Lawn” and “Once the Fog Shows up Rollin’ In” are common from the Brighton/Zito cooperation, with calming, swinging grooves and nation undertones, but obviously influenced from the Thankful Dead as well as the Band. To include an advantage, lead guitarists Brighton and Steve Doblick added details of shredding psychedelic jamming. The music group released another Compact disc in 1996, entitled Cathy Ann, on the tiny California label Sailcat Information. Within the ’90s and 2000s, a edition of Stackabones with Doblick and Brighton was operating the club picture on the Western Coastline, while Zito continuing working with a number of acoustic clothes around the East Coastline, including Railroad Pete, the Butch Zito Music group, the Porch Chops, and Two Vagrants.
