St. Lucia

Basically the solo vehicle for singer/songwriter Jean-Philip Grobler, the Brooklyn-based St. Lucia make shimmery, ’80s-influnced, synth-driven pop. Blessed in Johannesburg, South Africa, Grobler was raised performing in the Drakensberg Children Choir College, which discovered him touring and executing around European countries, Japan, and Australia. After departing the choir, Grobler went to music college in Britain before relocating to NEW YORK. Once there, he started writing his very own pop music and recording beneath the name St. Lucia. The band’s self-titled EP made an appearance on Neon Silver in 2012. In 2013, St. Lucia released their full-length debut record, When the night time, featuring the one “Elevate.” The record got into the Billboard 200 and strike amount six on Billboard’s Best Heatseekers Albums graph. Grobler and his music group after that spent the better area of the following couple of years touring, playing summer season festivals and starting for other performers including Charli XCX and Ellie Goulding. In 2016, St. Lucia came back using their sophomore full-length recording, Matter, including the singles “Dance on Cup,” “Physical,” and “Like Somebody.”
