Squirt

The members of the choice CCM music group Squirt play a reasonably typical amalgam of popular past due-’90s alternative rock styles — Nirvana-esque post-grunge, punk-pop, some ska — but it isn’t their sound that sets them apart, it’s their extremely early age. At that time their debut recording, Huge, premiered in 1998, drummer and founding member Jordan Dickerson was just 11, while guitarist Chris Fewell (an upgraded for unique member Blake Kaiser) and bassist Matt Smith (also an upgraded, for Torrey Burkum) had been both 13. Dickerson’s dad, previous Prince guitarist Dez Dickerson, operates the Total record label to which Squirt was authorized; both Dickersons conceived of the group as a chance to spread the gospel to youthful listeners much more likely to recognize with children their own age group. The band’s 1st solitary, 1998’s “Proceed!,” was documented with the initial lineup of Dickerson, Burkum, and Kaiser; Fewell and Smith became a member of up with time to full the documenting of Huge.
