Spy

The dance project Spy was formed by Joshua Ralph, a film student who parlayed his fascination with house recordings to an archive contract. Ralph was raised on Long Isle, researched at SUNY-Buffalo to get a year, then came back to NEW YORK to wait NYU’s film college. He spent additional time producing tape recordings by himself than in course, however. While getting his demos around the town, he produced a reference to musician Alex Weil and engineer Louis Scalise. Authorized to Lava/Atlantic, he released his debut recording, Music to Mauzner By, in 1999.
