Spiro

A folk clothing out of Bristol, Britain, Spiro isn’t one’s garden-variety folk group, sounding similar to a classical chamber quartet taking part in traditional materials with Pentangle, Steve Reich, and Philip Cup all sitting down in, and the effect, when Spiro reaches its best, is a startling and clean spin overall British folk custom. The group grew from the Bristol folk picture in 1993, and released an record on Uncle Information, Shed in Fishponds, beneath the name the Famous Five in 1994. After stabilizing the lineup (Jane Harbour on violin and viola, Alex Vann on mandolin, Jason Sparkes on accordion, and Jon Hunt on classical guitar and cello), the music group transformed its name to Spiro and released another album, Pole Superstar, on Uncle in 1997. Ultimately signing a documenting deal with REAL LIFE Information, Spiro released Lightbox to vital acclaim in ’09 2009, and implemented it with Kaleidophonica in 2012.
