The adjectives which are usually put on death metal, dark metal, and grindcore artists — blistering, ferocious, brutal, bone-crushing, merciless, unforgiving — easily explain the music of Spinecast, a death metal/dark metal unit which was formed in Huntsville, AL in early 1998. Known for a take-no-prisoners strategy, Spinecast has preferred the usual loss of life metallic/black metallic elements: a whole lot of fast tempos (although they don’t really play at lightning velocity on a regular basis), Occult-minded lyrics, along with a choked, demonic-sounding, larynx-shredding vocal design. Spinecast, just like a lot of rings in the loss of life metallic/black metallic underground, has experienced a lot more than their talk about of lineup adjustments. The initial 1998 lineup included founder Zac Kerr, (aka Kron O’Neal), on business lead vocals and acoustic guitar, and Cameron Pinkerton on drums; Pinkerton (who’s also a guitarist) consequently left the music group and was changed by Lance Wright. Spinecast experienced several bassists in the past due ‘90s — including Garth Lovvorn, most widely known for using the loss of life metallic music group Fleshtized — before employing woman bassist Leslie Keeble in 2000, and her association with Spinecast was historical because loss of life metallic and black metallic have been extremely male-dominated. Although feminine performers haven’t been difficult to find in the areas of metallic and heavy rock and roll (alternative metallic, for instance), almost all loss of life metallic/black steel outfits have already been totally male. Spinecast began documenting in 1998, if they supplied a three-song demonstration cassette known as Nightmares of Depravity; Kerr provides since become extremely critical of this demo, insisting it “wasn’t brutal more than enough.” Nightmares of Depravity was accompanied by 1999’s Disease of Worthlessness, the band’s initial full-length record. Spinecast’s next record, Move Forth and Mutilate, premiered by Crash Music (a little, metal-oriented 3rd party label located in Phoenix, AZ) in 2002. The Move Forth and Mutilate lineup contains Kerr, Keeble (that has since still left the music group) and Wright.
