Minutemen bassist Mike Watt and gonzo rock and roll critic Richard Meltzer were followers of every other’s function and vowed to synergy for a task in the mid ’80s, nonetheless it wasn’t until 2012 that they produced their collaborative dreams possible. For Spielgusher, Meltzer performed spoken term poetry alongside music performed by Watt and two users of Cornelius’ touring music group, drummer Yuko Araki and guitarist Hirotaka “Shimmy” Shimizu. The self-titled debut was an impressive 63 tracks lengthy, and premiered on Watt’s Clenched Wrench imprint in January of 2012.
