Spider & the Flies

Southend-on-Sea’s Spider & the Flies may be the warped analog synth brainchild from the Horrors’ keyboardist Spider Webb and bassist Tomethy Furse. Influenced by the digital experiments from the BBC Radiophonic Workshop aswell as even more kinetic performers like Juan Atkins, the duo documented technology fiction-tinged instrumentals including “Metallurge” and “Desmond Leslie,” that have been released like a limited-edition 7″ by Mute Information’ shop label, Mute Irregulars, in fall 2007. Webb and Furse also remixed Radiohead’s “Reckoner.” Spider & the Flies caused Add N to (X)’s Barry 7 on the debut mini-album, Something Clockwork IN THIS MANNER Comes, which came early in ’09 2009.
